This is my issue with the fancy stats crowd as it doesn't account for what the eyes clearly see and that is one player dominating the ice, maybe it does and I am wrong.
I have no idea how the analytics see Hedman this year but by the eye test he has been rounding into form the past two weeks. He gave up a few bad plays that cost the team in the prior weeks but he owned up to them and said he had to get better. He has done just that.
Any Lightning fan that has watched the past 3 games can see how dominant he is, he single handedly tilts the ice when he comes on the ice. What's even more impressive is Cooper is very smart and puts Hedman out there with the rookie line. He is dominating the ice with 3 rookies and Jan Rutta on the ice with him. I doubt he will ever win another Norris though to me he is deserving of more then one.
Just glad I got to watch him all these years, to see that big ass man skate and play the way he does is a treat to watch. |
